Black Plates

DSCN0112 DSCN0122 DSCN0638 DSCN0645Beautiful china filigree black plates, one of my fantastic purchases from an op shop in Arundel.  I saw these unusual plates that came with really ugly coffee mugs.  It seemed strange as they didn’t go together all that well, the plates look like they come from the 1930’s and the mugs from the 1970’s. There was 13 set, which again is odd as people normally have sets of 8, 10 or 12 of something, so these must have come from a large set maybe from a hotel or guest house.  The price tag was $6 for the lot can you believe, so I took the plates to the counter paid my $6 and told the lady I didn’t want the mugs.  I just love them; they look really special on my white dinner plates, so I used black, white and added green for my Christmas in July dinner party.  Definitely my best buy of 2014.
