Bathroom and en suite ripped out

Bathroom and en suite ripped out

Knocking the tiles off the walls of the bathroom and en suite went quite well, other than a few hits to my poor hands via a very heavy hammer. Next job was trying to get the residue of tile adhesive off, which didn’t go quite so well. Each blob of glue seem to take ages […]

When we first saw this house we decided that if we got it we would pull all the brick partition walls down and leave it all open spaced. This would be the kitchen, dining and living area all in one, even though there was a step still dividing the room, it still would look a […]

The big knock down day

Lee starts on the arch between the kitchen and the dining room.Taking all the horrible brick partition walls down. What a difference it makes. Leaving the center post up for now, until the new wooden one goes in. Kitchen out and fireplace gone.

We decided to go for a Lloyds Auction Kitchen and after placing a bid online last week, we brought one for $3,656.25.  We will have to adjust the layout of the kitchen a bit to make it fit and we might have to buy a bit more granite worktop, but overall we are pleased with […]

They are going!!

They are going!!

On hold :(

On hold :(

Well it’s ours now, but my big plans for renovating might have to go on hold for a year as the tenants are thinking of renewing their agreement by a year.  It’s all fine, but I really wanted to get stuck in. I will know for sure next month:(

The Renovation

The Renovation

So we have brought our second investment property in Helensvale, Queensland, Australia. Although it is only about 30 years old (that’s old for Queensland), it needs completely renovating. It’s a real dog’s dinner of a design, but we see real potential. We were told it’s a Cleveland Lodge Design, by Homemaker. Apparently the company has […]
